CBS. Oh how I used to love thee. Well, you’re a pretty darn close second to ABC for me now, but you’ve got some decent stuff you are trying to bring to the fall line-up. BUT. One thing you are bringing looks like it will SUCK and that is $#*! MY DAD SAYS with William Shatner. UGH.

Anyway, Blue Bloods looks like an awesome cop show. It’s written and produced by the God/ess’s who brought us The Sopranos. It stars Tom Sellick (Magnum PI), Will Estes (Reunion), Bridget Monyahan (Six Degrees) and Donnie Walberg (Runaway, Band of Brothers) and it’s about an Irish family who are all cops (well, one’s a DA) and I think it will be an incredible character driven show.

Hawaii Five-0 looks like it might be one to watch. It has Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight), Daniel Dae Kim (Lost), Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica, The Cleaner) and Scott Caan (Ocean’s 11, 12, 13). And really, the scenery from Hawaii is just gorgeous. This will def go in the must try pile for me.

And last but not least I’m on board with the new Criminal Minds spin off if for no other reason than the guy with the hot Brittish accent. No video though as they already intro’d the characters through a regular night on Criminal Minds.

ABC shows a much more promising new fall showing than FOX — gee surprise, surprise.

Body of Evidence w/ Dana Delaney looks like it might be a great twist on all the medical dramas out there. She’s an ME working through the guilt of killing a patient while she was a neurosurgeon. I like forensics and this show looks like it will be interesting. A cross between House and CSI. And frankly, the CSI franchise is starting to bore me.

No Ordinary Family might be one to try. Kinda reminds me of The Incredibles only with real people but I like Michael Chiklis (The Shield) and Julie Benz (Dexter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Off the Map is coming to us from the brain of Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy) and stars Enrique Murciano (Without a Trace). Another medical drama but I like the idea of it being in a third world country where medicine takes on a whole new meaning.

And another legal drama pops up on my radar. The Whole Truth starring Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) and Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck). I like that it seems fast paced and character driven. So I’ll put it on the must try list.

And points for cute goes to Happy Endings. A romantic dramedy about friends. Quite possibly a fresher more modern Friends-type show — which I have to admit, never really caught my attention.

So another day, another channel reveals their fall schedule. FOX is not a channel that I generally “like.” As in I don’t like the execs running it. They start shows, pull them at the drop of a hat and leave the viewers wondering what the hell happened. They are about the almighty bottom line, not necessarily good TV — hence their 50 zillion cartoons which suck.

But I did find ONE possible gem in the line-up. Lonestar looks like it could be…interesting. I’m not sure I’m going to be empathetic to the con man from Texas, but, maybe I will. Anyway, have a look-see for yourself.

I’m also mildly curious about Terra Nova, but there wasn’t a trailer readily available for it, so who knows. But the rest of what FOX is going to try and feed the world looks crappy. Here’s where I plug my fave current FOX show. Glee. Keep watching and if you haven’t seen it, what’s wrong with you? Get the DVD set and get with it!

I love May. May is the time for flowers, rain, sun and Upfronts. NBC announced their fall schedule and some of the shows looked intriguing. First up, Undercovers. Why I like it: JJ Abrams. Need I say more?

Next, I found The Event to be semi-intriguing. I’m not sure this trailer makes me jump for joy but it piques my interest just enough…

I reallllly liked the trailer for Chase. I really like Kelli Giddish (from Past Life) and LOVE Cole Hauser (K-Ville & Dazed and Confused. He has the cutest accent) and Jesse Metcalf (Deperate Housewives & John Tucker Must Die) not sure he can really act but he’s def great eye candy!

Typically, I am not a fan of law shows. In fact, I can’t remember the last “law” show I followed. Lawyers bore me, the cases seem monotonous, but Outlaw looks like it just might change my view on law dramas. It has Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue) & Jesse Bradford (Swimfan & Bring It On) and is produced by John Eisendrath (Alias).

The Cape. This one is going to be either GREAT or a huge flop. Mostly unknowns (or not very well knowns) except Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). It’s got a Heroes type theme but seems pretty straight-forward in plot.

Love Bites looks cute. Might catch it when there’s nothing else on. I usually can’t keep up with comedies in my personal “watch list.”

Just finished my second reading of Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. I’m not a Twihard. I think the books are pretty marginal in both writing and imagination and hello! Romeo and Juliet much? BUT in Eclipse, Meyer has the ability to really evoke emotions in me on behalf of Jacob. I cried. Again. And I have to say that I am really stoked about the movie coming in June. It just looks like it will be a good representation of the book. First movie? Major suckage – ummm no pun intended. Second movie, good enough for me to own it but maybe that’s because of Taylor Lautner shirtless? Third movie looks great and I am unabashedly looking forward to it.

We Are Virginia Tech
We are Virginia Tech
We are sad today
And we will be sad for quite a while
We are not moving on
We are embracing our mourning
We are Virginia Tech
We are strong enough to stand tall tearlessly
We are brave enough to bend to cry …
And sad enough to know we must laugh again
We are Virginia Tech
We do not understand this tragedy
We know we did nothing to deserve it
But neither does a child in Africa dying of aids
Neither do the invisible children walking the night away to avoid being captured by a rogue army
Neither does the baby elephant watching his community being devastated for ivory
Neither does the Mexican child looking for fresh water
Neither does the Appalachian infant killed in the middle of night in his crib in the home its father built with his own hands being run over by a boulder because the land was destablized
No one deserves a tragedy
We are Virginia Tech
The Hokie nation embraces our own and reaches out with open heart and hands to those who offer their hearts and minds
We are strong and brave and innocent and unafraid
We are better than we think and not quite what we want to be
We are alive to the imagination and the possibility
We will continue to invent the future
Through our blood and tears
Through all this sadness
We are the Hokies
We will prevail
We will prevail
We will prevail
We are Virginia Tech

I have my $1000 emergency savings fund and will now move on to cutting the pork out of my life.

Has anyone tried this besides Adrienne? Her and her husband LOVE the plan and I mean LOVE it. It’s definitely worked for them. It also worked for my neighbor with his ex-wife. I will fully confess that I am terrible with money. Live for today! That’s my motto. Who cares about tomorrow? I could be dead!!! Well, at 35 I should have a better plan than Carpe Diem — or my fall back plan, marry rich!

So what did you find helpful? What were obstacles and how did you overcome them? Did you do some tweaking of the plan that seemed to work a little better for you? I’m honestly curious since Rockefeller I ain’t. I’ll take as much advice as people want to give!
