Vegas, Bodies & Michael Phelps
By Shelly | April 19, 2009
I’m baaaack from Las Vegas! Had a great time — minus the day of intestinal flu. I mean really. Who gets the flu less than 12 hours before your flight? Sheesh. I had to take it easy on Monday but Tuesday I walked around like it was my job. I loved touring the casinos. I think my favorite overall was The Venetian. I liked the atmosphere, the building and all the little shops. If I had unlimited cash I would probably stay at THE Hotel (part of Mandalay Bay) or The Wynn. And let me just say The Bellagio was nothing to sneeze at. I fell in love with the sunken tub my friend’s room had.
We didn’t get to see O which was a bit disappointing but I knew it would be a crap shoot since the show was only on one night of our stay. BUT we did get to see the Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini showroom at the Wynn. And let me tell you. I’m not a car girl. Basically I think the things get you from point A to point B. And wax and car washes? WTH are those things??? But we saw the new 2010 Ferrari California GT and OH. MY. GOD. It is a beautiful work of art! If only I had earned enough money on the slots for one of those puppies. Mmmmmmmm But I didn’t. *sighs* So I guess I will just have to drool over pics.
We also went to see Bodies…The Exhibition at the Luxor. It was incredible. I was worried that with my “weak” stomach I might not be able to take in all the displays but it was fascinating!
If you are looking for a fantastic place to eat (very classy…very expensive!) I suggest Mix at Mandalay Bay. WOW it was gorgeous on the inside, had a beautiful view of the strip since it was at the top of the building and the food was divine. I just wanted to reach out and touch the glass bubbles they had hanging like a curtain. It was beautiful and the staff were very attentive.
The trip was over waaaaay too soon. As I boarded my US Air flight back to BWI, low and behold, there was Michael Phelps in first class. And he was lookin’ pretty rough. But I gotta say…who doesn’t look rough after spending time in Sin City? Michael, I sure hope you won more in Vegas than I did!!!
