So Much to Be Thankful For

By Shelly | November 27, 2008

The last 6 months or so have been a difficult time for me.  I have contemplated erasing this blog as well as others that I have.  Writing had become a chore instead of fun, time was at a premium and I was busy making lots of changes in my life.  I have decided I want to continue with the things that gave me joy and this blog is one of them.

This Thanksgiving I am so grateful to have my family and friends around me — both in my “real” life and my virtual lives.  The holidays are here and I want to enjoy them with the people I care about.

On MySpace, my motto is “Life is too short for bad books.”  Well, really I have come to the conclusion that you CAN help having most of the “bad” stuff in your life.  You just have to take control of your own happiness.  Sweep out the bad and usher in the good.  Have a “friend” who is your personal psychic vampire?  Or a family member that creates financial instability in your life?  Sometimes you have to do the hard thing and cut them out.  You have to start taking care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else.  And that’s what I am doing — ushering in the good.

So have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

As I advise writers to do:- cut, cut, and cut again….

Happy New Year to you and yours.
